Moving On

She left me for someone with more confidence and ambition than I thought I could ever have. I agonized for months over the loss of our relationship. I went to the gym, I volunteered myself for extra work at the office to start climbing the ladder. I managed to seek her out at a party a year later, and she took an immediate interest in me now that I had changed. But for the life of me I couldn’t remember what it was I found interesting about her in the first place.
